Not as strange as Scott Walker, but anyone brought up on the whole mainstream music scene will find his stuff decidedly odd. One of the finest lyricists in rock music.

• "Tilt" - There once was a Walker Brothers song called "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" which is now one of those "hits'n'memories" songs that you hear all the time on crappy radio stations. Twenty years later, Scott Walker is walking out in some sort of musical twilight zone, beyond everything you're used to hearing from him or anyone else. Utterly compelling.

• "Living with the Law" - An assured and captivating debut from a man who has music running through his veins.
