February gig news
Rebecca is doing her jazz thing at these shows:
- Sat 1 Feb - 6-9pm, with Moovin' and Groovin' Orchestra, Zoo Twilight Series, Melbourne Zoo, Parkville (see www.zoo.org.au). Normal zoo admission charges apply.
- Sat 8 Feb - 7:30-9:30pm, Rebecca Barnard Quartet @ Fitzroy Gardens as part of Twilight Rhythms series. Free entry.
Rebecca is also planning a tour with her father Len Barnard - I'll post details when that is all organised.
As some of you may already know, the new Stephen Cummings album "Firecracker" hits stores on Monday 3 Feb. The album was produced and mixed by Shane and features Shane playing lots of guitar and Rebecca on some vocals.
If you're quick, you can contact Graham Lee at WMinc Productions to pre-order the album for $30 (incl postage within Aust) and you'll also get a bonus live disc which will not be available through normal retail outlets. Pre-orders close this week (31 Jan). See this page for more info:

As part of the "Firecracker" promotional tour, Shane will be part of Stephen's band for these shows:
- Sun 9 Feb - Melbourne International Music and Blues Festival, Exhibition Centre, Melbourne. Performance will include two drummers: the Peters Jones and Luscombe.
- Thu 20 Feb - The Clarendon, Katoomba NSW.
- Fri 21 Feb - Roma Room, George St, Sydney NSW.
- Fri 7 Mar - Grace Emily Hotel, Adelaide SA.
- Sat 8 Mar - Murray Bridge, Adelaide SA.
- Sun 9 Mar - Exeter Hotel, Adelaide SA.
- Sat 15 Mar - The Palais, Hepburn Springs VIC.
- Sun 16 Mar - Corner Hotel, Richmond, Melbourne.
- Sat 29 Mar - Uncle Neil's Place, 351 Glenfern Rd, Upwey VIC.
Finally, for those interested in a sneak peek inside the Yikesville recording studio, I noticed that the last five minutes of the "Making Of" feature on the Lantana DVD features Paul Kelly talking about recording the ARIA award-winning soundtrack to the film and then shows some quick footage of Jan Chapman (producer), Ray Lawrence (director), Paul and Shane in the studio. Note that the rental version of the Lantana DVD doesn't feature the documentary, it's only on the retail DVD. That's useless trivia perhaps... :-)
